Pair of Antique French Double Doors. Salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA.
The doors have solid Douglas Fir cores covered with 1/8 thick Heartpine veneers. They are stained on both sides.Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/8 thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided windows.
One lite is broken, one is missing, and one is cracked. We could replace/add the glass. The doors are not equipped with any hardware.
Sturdy and in great structural condition. The typical scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes that you would expect to find on an old, used door. Each door has a small piece of veneer that broke off of a lower corner (see last 2 photos). He doors have no serious breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, or warp.
